Welcome in Asilah!
The elegant, white town of  Morocco sits proudly on the Atlantic coast with Tangiers to the north and Larache to the south.
It has always played an important part in Morocco’s history and was occupied by both the Portuguese and the Spanish.
In 1578, it was famous for the battle of the 3 kings which ended with Portugal being added to the Spanish empire.
Asilah is an impressive little town with a small fishing port and plans for a new marina. It has been attracting tourists and artists alike for many years with its annual arts festival. During August the town is alive with artists, poets and musicians from across the globe. Evidence of their work can be witnessed in the form of murals on the buildings of the town throughout the year. With its quaint squares, pretty houses and little shops selling a variety of Moroccan handicrafts it’s a good place to get your souvenirs. the town has a population of approx 20,000.
